My trip to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this May couldn’t have been more enjoyable! The weather for traveling was perfect and the route we took across the states was varied and beautiful. Festival organizers were very efficient and accommodating and the people who attended the event were knowledgeable, friendly and very interested in the Wensleydales. In the show ring, Carlson Farm Wensleydales won many classes including Champion and Reserve Ewe, Champion Ram Lamb, Best Fleece of Breed, and Premier Breeder of White Wool. What a thrill!

The first showing of the 50% Wensleydales
was at the California
Wool & Fiber Festival , 2000
where this brother-sister team was awarded best pair. A
comment was made that their fleeces "would give kid mohair
a run for the money."
